The Justice Palace

At the entrance to the city there stands the imposing building of the Palace of Justice, designed (1907 - 1911) by the architect Α. Stamatiades and built at the expense of Andreas Syngros, the great benefactor. It includes a court of justice of the peace, magisterial court, court of the first instance, a criminal court and a court of appea1. There are political records here preserved since the time of the Revolution. The records of Kolokotronis' trial were kept in the Palace of Justice until 1963.

At the South end of the Palace of Justice square there is a statue of Nikitaras (1) with the following verses by Kostis Palamas (2)
